Taiwan opposition party KMT leader Lien Chan
toasts Liu Qi (R), secretary of the Beijing Committee of the Communist
Party of China, during a luncheon at Beijing Hotel April 28, 2005. Lien,
chairman of the KMT, or Nationalist Party, flew to Beijing on Thursday to a
red-carpet welcome and bouquet-waving children chanting "Welcome, welcome. (Wish
