"There really is no competition," Zhou was quoted as saying. "Any actor's dream is to work with other talented people: the crew, the director or actors. That's why we've been working so well together."
In "The Banquet," Zhang plays a widowed empress, and Zhou is a court maiden. The two, together with actresses Vicky Zhao Wei and Fan Bingbing, are known as China's "four heavenly queens."
Zhou, 29, starred in "Suzhou River" (2000), "Hollywood Hong Kong" (2001), "Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress" (2002) and "Perhaps Love" (2005) _ which won her the best actress prize at the Hong Kong Film Awards.
