Taiwan launches final protest to oust A-bian (Reuters) Updated: 2006-06-24 15:49
James Soong, chairman of Taiwan's minority People First Party, holds a sit-in
protest against President Chen Shui-bian near the legislature in Taipei June 24,
2006. Opposition politicians have waged a fierce campaign in recent weeks to
oust Chen over scandals involving members of his family and former aides,
launching the recall motion last week. The sign reads, "Life and death pale in
comparison over the price of truth, just as the views of differing political
parties will not compromise on right and wrong". [Reuters]
