A giant wild lizard was caught on the balcony of a second floor apartment in Yuanshan, Guangdong Province, on Monday.
The 1.3-metre-long lizard was first spotted earlier in the day by a terrified child, whose father called the police.
It took three officers more than an hour to catch the lizard, which weighs between 6 and 7 kilograms.
The lizard, a protected species, was later released back into the wild.
But how the lizard arrived in the residential house is still unknown.
