China Eastern Airlines Corp., the country's third-biggest carrier, said
Friday it was in talks with potential strategic investors, including Singapore
Airlines Ltd.
China Eastern said its discussions with possible strategic partners were
aimed at expanding opportunities for commercial cooperation.
It said it was considering taking on strategic investors when "timing
matures." It didn't give a timetable or any other details.
Singapore Airlines said Thursday it was in discussions with the Chinese
carrier but hasn't made any deal.
China's airlines are rapidly expanding their foreign ties, adding
international routes and joining airline groups such as OneWorld and Star
Alliance.
