A woman in Hangzhou was angry with her dog after it ate her bankbook.

The woman said that she left her deposit book containing 100,000 yuan (US$12,330) on a desk for a few minutes last week.

When she came back, the book had disappeared and her dog was lying beside the desk, chewing something with relish.

She opened the dog's mouth and saw the deposit book in pieces. The woman said that the dog was obsessed with eating paper and had recently consumed several hundred yuan she had left on the desk.
