A Nanjing fruit vendor sang revised folk songs in public in the hope of flattering the policemen trying to punish him for trading illegally.

At midday on Sunday, law enforcement officers were alerted that six peach vendors were illegally blocking a metro station entrance.

They caught the vendors on the spot and ticketed them for doing business without license. One of the vendors suddenly raised his voice to sing the flattering folk songs and threatened not to stop singing unless police took back the tickets.

The vendor later was punished for illegal trading as well as disturbing public order.
