A Shenzhen woman set a record for survival, after her heart stopped for 85 minutes.
On July 22, Li, aged 32, felt uncomfortable and was accompanied by her husband to Shenzhen Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. When waiting at the emergency room, Li clutched her chest and collapsed all of a sudden. A doctor passing by rushed her for emergency treatment.
She had no heartbeat, breathing or blood pressure. According to the hospital record, resuscitation work started at 15:25.
With three doctors performing cardiac compression in turn more than 8,500 times, the patient regained her heartbeat 85 minutes after it stopped.
