Man smashes ATM after it eats his card

A farmer from a village in Yushu of Jilin Province was put behind bars for three years last week for sabotaging an automatic teller machine.

One night early this year, the drunken man tried to take money from an ATM set in front of a bank with his own bank card, but failed to get a penny from it because he used the wrong password. His card was swallowed due to a delayed operation after he tried again. The man then smashed the ATM to pieces and ran away.

His actions were recorded by a camera atop the ATM. Police caught him the next day with the help of the video evidence.
