Man's pet pig gets bigger than planned

A man surnamed Zheng was surprised when his mini pet pig grew to more than 100 kilograms over two years in Chencun Township of Foshan in Guangdong Province.

Zheng got the mini pig when it weighed only 2.5 kilograms and was at 30 centimetres long in July of 2004. He wanted to raise the pig as a pet at home.

However, the little pig began growing quickly one year later.

Local experts believe the pig to be a cross between a pet pig and a porker. Zheng said he never had any intention of selling or slaughtering the pig, because he had a great attachment to it.
