A huge mooncake is attracting many visitors in Haikou, capital of Hainan Province.

The mooncake, made by a local restaurant in the city's Haixiu Road, measures more than 220 centimetres in diameter and is more than 40 centimetres thick.

It is made with more than 344 kilograms of mashed lotus seeds, 34 kilograms of cooking peanut oil, 100 kilograms of flour and 284 kilograms of egg yolk.

The mooncake, the biggest so far made in Hainan Province, is being displayed in the restaurant's lobby for a week, becoming its new attraction. It will be exhibited until the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival on October 6.
