BERLIN - Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao plans a trip to Germany next week for meetings with Chancellor Angela Merkel and to take part in the opening of a business summit, Merkel's spokesman said Monday.

In addition to the talks with Merkel on September 14, Wen is scheduled to meet with President Horst Koehler and Economy Minister Michael Glos, spokesman Ulrich Wilhelm said.

He is to attend the opening of the Hamburg business summit "China meets Europe" with Glos on September 13.
