About 500 wild boars broke into a pig farm in Youyang County of Chongqing one night last week, eating all the food prepared for the pigs.

Worse, the boars refused to leave after driving away all the pigs, workers said.

The boars were starving due to a famine caused by this year's catastrophic drought, the worst in 50 years.

To help the unexpected intruders, a species under legal protection, authorities planned to build a hog-pen outside the farm.
