Primary school students flock to cooking course (China Daily) Updated: 2006-09-25 08:38
Teachers from a primary school in Shanghai were surprised to find that a
cooking course has become the favourite of pupils in the new semester.
The school set up an optional cooking course for students in higher grades
this semester, in which students could learn how to make dishes and cakes at
home. Only 20 students out of 300 candidates were allowed to take the course;
among them, one third were boys.
Many students said they wished to cook for their parents, who were exhausted
after work.
