Macao recorded nearly half a million tourist arrivals during China's weeklong National Day holiday, a year-on-year growth of 13.7 percent, according to official statistics issued Wednesday.

The statistics from the Information Bureau showed that some 60 percent of the visitors came from the Chinese mainland during the "golden week."

The average occupancy rate of three to five-star hotels in Macao reached 84.07 percent, the figures showed.
