At the photo session before their talks, Li told Rice she had come against
the backdrop of the sound development of China-U.S. relations but "complicated"
and "volatile" international situation.
Rice said the nuclear test of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is a
"new factor" of the Korean Peninsula situation.
She called for China to work together with the United States to implement the
1718 resolution of the United Nations Security Council, and seek diplomatic path
which leads to denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.
The closed-door session is still going on by press time.
