A sick, elderly man was found on the outskirts of Changzhi in Shanxi Province after living alone in a desolate cave-house for half a year.

The man, a native of neighbouring Shandong Province, had been a migrant worker in Changzhi, but lost his job and was abandoned by his family, prompting his move to the cave-house with a broken bed.

After his discovery, the man was moved to a local rescue centre. Staff have promised to resettle him once his disease is cured.
