Guangzhou's Panyu District People's Court on Tuesday threw out a lawsuit
filed by a local man against his former wife, who had clipped their wedding
photos into pieces.
Wang sought compensation for the damage of his commemorative articles valued
at 1,000 yuan (US$125), plus spiritual compensation of 10,000 yuan (US$1,250).
He had wanted to keep the wedding photos as keepsake, but his ex-wife used
scissors to cut the photos into pieces after they got divorced early this year.
The court said the wedding photos were owned by both Zhang and his wife, and
she had the right to damage the photos after their divorce.
