Comoran president arrives for Beijing summit

BEIJING - Comoran President Ahmed Abdallah Mohamed Sambi arrived here Tuesday for the Beijing Summit of the Forum on the China-Africa Cooperation.

The two-day summit is scheduled to start on November4. A total of 48 African countries having diplomatic relations with China will send delegations to the summit.

China and Comoros established diplomatic ties in November, 1975, and bilateral trade totaled 1.83 million US dollars in 2005.

Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing visited Comoros in 2004 and former Comoran President Azali Assoumani paid a visit to China in 2003.
