Women are going nuts for the Guangdong Making Friends Centre for Senior Citizens, officially established in Guangzhou a month ago.

Of the centre's 200 members, more than two-thirds are elderly women.

Sometimes up to three women compete for one man at the centre.

The centre hopes to attract more single male professors, retired officials and scholars in the following months.

The centre is also organizing Guangdong-Hong Kong parties and get-togethers to help Guangdong seniors to seek overseas partners.
