Macao is to adjust its economy to a multi-dimensional framework step by step, the region's economy chief said here Friday.

Francis Tam Pak Yuen, Secretary for Economy and Finance, told the conference of the region's Legislative Assembly (LA) that the goal of the government is to first usher the pillar gaming industry into a multi-dimensional development route.

Tam said the gaming industry is hopefully to help boost the sectors of tourism, hotel business and retail services on the first stage.
