Taiwan's foreign exchange reserves hit a record high of 265 billion U.S. dollars at the end of November, up 3.3 billion U.S. dollars on the October figure, according to Taiwan finance authorities Wednesday.

Taiwan has the third largest foreign exchange reserves in the world, after the Chinese mainland and Japan, the Taiwan finance regulatory commission said.

An official from the commission said the appreciation of the euro and the British pound against the U.S. dollar had boosted Taiwan's forex reserves.
