Shenzhen pianist Li Yundi became a Hong Kong resident under the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme on Monday, the second successful applicant after US-based Chinese pianist Lang Lang.

Li said he likes Hong Kong for its vitality. Though his frequent engagements to perform around the world will prevent him from staying for long, he said he wants to spend more time in Hong Kong and help train local music talents.

The Quality Migrant Admission Scheme was launched last June to attract talented artists to Hong Kong.
