Many Election Committee (EC) members pledged their support to Tsang in the past two days.

Victor Li, also the managing director and deputy chairman of Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited, said he was confident of Tsang's capabilities.

"Tsang is committed to serving Hong Kong and he is a capable person. His attitude and agenda are pragmatic," he said.

Henry Cheng, managing director of Hong Kong's leading developer New World Development, said Tsang was a sincere person.

Cheng said Tsang's proposal on democratic development was very reasonable and he would support him.

Labour sector EC member Choi Chun-wah expressed hope that Tsang would launch public infrastructure projects earlier to tackle unemployment .

He also said the approval process of such projects should be accelerated.

As for election forums, Legislative Council president Rita Fan agreed to host a forum for CE election candidates, which will include Civic Party legislator Alan Leong.

However, the forum's schedule was not finalized as yet.
