A woman and her two teenage sons have been given suspended sentences for attempting to rob a stamp vending machine.

Police officers caught the trio red-handed in December as they were trying to make off with the coins.

The mother admitted to being a lookout but said her 16-year-old son was the brains behind the foiled plot.
