Dream of office job comes true for Down sufferer(China Daily)Updated: 2007-03-20 09:06 To hold an office job is the dream of Tsang Cheuk-ling, a 22-year-old woman with Down syndrome. With the estimated intelligence of a 10-year-old, Tsang had difficulty finding an employer who would believe in her. Still, she never stopped trying. Her zeal touched a social worker, who introduced her to a computer company. Now hired as an office assistant paid HK$4,000 ($512) a month, Tsang is loved by her colleagues for her diligence, carefulness and outgoing personality. Lau Wai-syu, her boss, said he had worried hiring Tsang would affect efficiency. But she has proved a qualified worker if given clear instructions. (Ming Pao) |
