Polluted water deals a blow to fishermen
(Newsphoto) Updated: 2007-04-04 10:20
A fisherman smokes while looking at a
stack of dead fish as another nets floating fish on a polluted fishing pond
in Tancheng, East China's Shandong Province April 3, 2007. The pollution caused
160,000 yuan (US$20779) of direct economic losses to 16 families of fishermen.
Preliminary investigation shows that the fish was killed by polluted water from
an alcohol-making factory located in the upper stream.
