Li Yinxiu, a resident of Xiaosong
township, Fujian Province, left the Jian'ou city hospital on Tuesday morning.
"She has recovered from the influenza, and her blood pressure, breathing,
pulse and temperature are all back to normal," said Lin Zhangshu, Li's doctor.
Li, 44, developed symptoms of fever and pneumonia on February 18 after being
in contact with dead poultry.
She was diagnosed with human avian influenza by experts with the Ministry of
Health on February 28.
China has reported a total of 25 human cases of bird flu since 2003, which
have resulted in 15 deaths.
The Ministry of Health confirmed last August that the country's first human
case of H5N1 bird flu virus occurred in November 2003. A 24-year-old man who
died in Beijing in 2003 was initially thought to have died from SARS.
