Students offered safe dating guide(CRIENGLISH.com)Updated: 2007-07-11 11:02 Days after a female college student was killed, a publishing house in central China's Hunan province has begun distributing a guide book on safe dating, a report said. The student was killed on June 29, and in response Hunan Wenyi Publishing House surveyed students at Hunan University in Changsha city. Among the questions asked were what did students think were the possible dangers in dating, the local Xiaoxiang Morning Post said. In addition, the publisher gave each respondent a guide offering advice and tips such as how to deal with a harassing ex, how to tell if a dating partner is cheating, and how to avoid sexual assault during a date. The book is a Chinese translation of an American guide. A male reader surnamed Zhang was quoted as saying there might be cultural clashes, but he considers it a useful guide. The murdered student, only identified as Lin, was raped and killed by a stranger she met while walking alone near Changsha's Mount Yuelu. College students comprise a large number of China's Internet users and are
likely to meet their online friends, which also poses possible dangers, the
report said. |
