HANGZHOU -- A house fire has killed three people and injured one early Tuesday morning in Jiaxing city of east China's Zhejiang Province.

The tragedy occurred at about 4:12 a.m. when a fire hit a house with five people in it. The firemen managed to pull the five trapped out, and four were severely injured.

Three died in the hospital later. They are mother and wife of the householder, and a boarding guest.

Investigation about the accident cause and economic loss is under way.
