Party officials found violating rules in Shanghai

Six Chinese Communist Party officials in Shanghai were found using their positions to make illegal profits after they surrendered during the Party's latest month-long grace period, Party discipline watchdog officials announced today.

One of the corrupted officials has been sent to the judicial department, two were still under further investigation.

Despite verified corruption records, the three other officials were given lenient treatment as they had already received preliminary punishment, according to the Discipline Inspection Commission of the CPC Shanghai Committee.

Wang Weigong, deputy general manager of the Shanghai-listed Shenenergy Group, is under investigation for an alleged serious violation of Party discipline.

Details about Wang's case will be publicized after the investigation is completed.Discipline inspectors didn't disclose any other corruption cases.
