SHIJIAZHUANG -- A tower crane collapsed at a construction site on Friday in north China's Hebei Province, killing six people, local government sources said.

The accident occurred at 2:30 pm at the construction site of Dongfang Power Plant in Tangshan City, when the tower crane collapsed and killed four people on the spot. Two others who were injured and died on the way to hospital.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
