Guangdong, Sao Paulo sign friendship agreement(Xinhua)
Updated: 2007-08-30 15:27 BRASILIA - Southern China's Guangdong Province and the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo have signed a friendship agreement to enhance understanding and exchanges, China's embassy in Brazil said Wednesday. Huang Huahua, governor of Guangdong Province, signed the agreement during a visit to Sao Paulo Tuesday. Huang met with Sao Paulo state governor Jose Serra. Both sides expressed their willingness to boost bilateral exchanges. Sao Paulo, the most developed state in Brazil, produces nearly half of Brazil's industrial products. Guangdong is one of the biggest investors in Brazil, thanks to such Chinese companies as Gree, Huawei and ZTE, who are all headquartered in the province. These companies will help enhance cooperation between the two nations, Huang said. |
