BEIJING - Yu Shyi-kun announced in Taipei on Friday that he has resigned as chairman of the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), according to Taiwan media reports.

Yu's resignation came hours after he was indicted by Taiwan's prosecutors on graft charge.
