NANCHANG - At least 12 people were killed and six others injured in a fire in a nightclub in East China's Jiangxi Province on Tuesday night, according to the local public security bureau.

A fire engulfed the "Bense Jingying" club in Linchuan District of Fuzhou City at about 10:20 p.m.

The injured six are in hospital and are in stable conditions, according to doctors.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
