MACAO - Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (MSAR), delivered the annual policy address here at the Legislative Assembly house on Tuesday afternoon, outlining his government's policy direction in the coming year.

Ho said in the address that the MSAR has made through testing moments over the past year under the support from the central government and from all Macao residents.
The region has been marching on the cause of the implementation of "One country, two systems", "Macao people governing Macao" and the high autonomy, said the official.
The government, in the coming year, will spare no effort to carry out measures for the people's benefit and build a prosperous society implementing the principle of the people-based policy, Ho said.
He said Macao is to cement its economic base and to speed up the pace in development of "the multi dimensional economy."
The official said the government of the MSAR is to boost the development of the tourism business and the reform of the manufacture industry in the coming year.
Ho said the government is to enhance the surveillance on the pillar gaming industry in a bid to usher the business into a healthy development process.
He pledged to help promote the cooperation between the region's enterprises and those of the Chinese mainland, saying that Macao is to play a more active role as the platform for the economic cooperation between China and oversees countries.
He also promise to help the development of medium and small enterprises.
The chief executive vowed to enhance the living standard of all residents and help the common people benefit from the social and economic development.
