China Enterprises Index up 0.74% -- Feb. 28(Xinhua)
Updated: 2008-02-29 07:03 HONG KONG -- Hang Seng China Enterprises Index on Hong Kong Stock Exchange went up Thursday 103.08 points, or 0.74 percent higher, to close the day's trading at 14,039.980. The H-shares index, initiated in August 1994 and readjusted on February 15, 2008, tracks the overall performance of 42 Chinese mainland state-owned enterprises listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Hang Seng China H-Financials Index moved up 153.61 points, or 0. 99 percent, to close at 15,709.79. The H-Financials Index, initiated on November 27, 2006, readjusted on September 10, 2007, tracks the performance of nine major banks and insurers of the Chinese mainland. Hang Seng Mainland Composite Index went up 24.73 points, or 0. 54 percent, to close at 4,602.19. Introduced on October 3, 2001 and readjusted on September 11, 2006, Hang Seng Mainland Composite Index gauges the performance of 103 Hong Kong-listed companies with principal places of business in Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland. Hang Seng China-Affiliated Corporations Index moved up 17.76 points, or 0.32 percent, to close at 5,518.61. The index tracks the performance of 31 locally listed companies with a significant equity interest held by entities in the Chinese mainland. |
