BEIJING -- Dusty and windy weather is expected to continue in most parts of northern China next week, the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) forecast on Thursday.

The northern and northeastern areas are unlikely to receive rain in the next ten days, and the temperatures will be slightly higher than in previous years.

From next Tuesday, the temperature in most parts of the north is expected to fall sharply. Some regions may endure a new round of sandstorms amid the strong wind.

The northern part of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region will see snow and strong wind on Tuesday and Wednesday as the temperature will experience a sharp drop. The southern part of this region can expect sandstorms.

Meteorologists advised the public to wear face masks to ward off dust. Precision equipment should also be properly sealed to avoid being affected by the dust.
