BEIJING - Henry M. Paulson, special representative of US President George W. Bush and the US Treasury Secretary, arrived in Beijing on Wednesday to start his two-day China trip for preparation for the fourth round of China-US Strategic Economic Dialogue (SED).

During his stay, Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao will meet him. President Hu's Special Representative and Vice Premier Wang Qishan will hold work talks with Paulson and exchange views on China-US SED and bilateral relations.

The two countries had agreed to hold their fourth round of the SED at Washington in June this year. Wang Qishan and Paulson are expected to jointly preside over the dialogue.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said on Tuesday the two sides currently were holding coordination at working levels on relevant issues concerning the fourth SED.

She said China hopes to have in-depth discussion with the US side on related strategic issues during Paulson's visit, so as to push forward the healthy growth of bilateral economic ties.
