SHIJIAZHUANG - Hu Chunhua was appointed deputy governor and acting governor of China's north Hebei Province on Tuesday.
The appointment came at the 2nd session of the standing committee of the 11th Hebei Provincial People's Congress.
The resignation of the province's former governor, Guo Gengmao, was accepted at the same session. Guo was appointed acting governor of Henan, China's most populous province.
Hu, born in April 1963 and a native of Wufeng, Hubei Province, worked in Tibet for more than 20 years.
He served as Tibet's deputy chief of the Communist Party of China (CPC) from 2003 to 2006. He also held the post of vice chairman of the Tibet autonomous regional government from 2003 to 2005.
Hu was appointed the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China in 2006.
