Power resumed in Sichuan except Aba, Beichuan

BEIJING  -- Power has been resumed in most parts of Sichuan after Monday's massive earthquke, the State Grid Corporation of China announced Thursday.

However, people in Beichuan County and Aba Prefecture were still in blackout.

Communications cables connecting Wenchuan, the epicenter of Monday's devastating quake in southwest China, with other parts of the country resumed operation at 1:55 p.m. on Thursday, said the country's fixed-line operator China Telecom.
