BEIJING -- Chinese shares dived 4.48 percent on Tuesday, dragged down by heavy weights.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed at 3,443.16 points, plumped 161.60 points, or 4.48 percent, from the previous close.
The Shenzhen Component Index on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange closed at 12,449.81 points, down 747.78 points, or 5.67 percent, from Monday.
The Hushen 300 Index reflecting the performance of China's Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges closed at 3,710.82 points, sliding 203.25 points, from the previous close.
