BEIJING -- The government disaster relief fund for China's quake-stricken areas had exceeded 23.07 billion yuan ($3.32 billion) as of Tuesday noon, up 41 million yuan from the previous day, according to the Information Office of the State Council.
The fund included 18.68 billion yuan from the central budget and 4.39 billion yuan from the local budget, the office said.
As of Tuesday noon, donations from home and abroad to China's quake-hit regions had reached 42.36 billion yuan (about $6.1 billion), up 620 million yuan from the previous day, according to the Information Office of the State Council.
So far, 12.1 billion yuan, in cash and relief materials, had been forwarded to the earthquake-affected areas, the office said.
