The following is a biographical sketch of Chen Zhili, who was elected vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC) on Saturday. Female, ethnic Han, born in November 1942, native of Xianyou of Fujian Province; joined Communist Party of China (CPC) in January 1961; started working in September 1964; graduate of Shanghai Institute of Silicate of China Academy of Sciences; holds a master's degree; associate research fellow.
