A statue of Haibao, the mascot of Expo Shanghai, appeared at the Ningbo Art Museum yesterday afternoon. Local people have been familiar with the blue mascot.
Visitors to the museum can also enjoy a photo exhibition “Our Expo,” which is a highlight of the promotion week. The photos show the history of the World Expo, the preparation of Expo Shanghai and how Ningbo contributes to the 2010 event.
Next May, Ningbo will hold one of the six theme forums of Expo 2010 focusing on information industry and urbanization.
Also yesterday, an Expo live TV show was shot at Ningbo’s Tengtou Village to record the development of the eco-tourist attraction.
Tengtou Village, one of the Global Ecological 500 and World Top 10 Harmonious Villages, now features ecological and agricultural tours. Tengtou, 27 kilometers away from Ningbo City, covers an area of 1.1 square kilometers with garden sceneries, old houses and southern China style country yards.
The replication of Tengtou Village will appear at the Expo 2010 Urban Best Practices Area.
