The global network equipment provider on October 20 signed a contract with the Expo organizer to build the 18th corporate pavilion for the event.
Cisco's pavilion, themed "Smart + Connected Life," will showcase how to make transport, security, medication, utilities and government affairs easier by advanced network technology.
Hong Hao, director of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, said he believed visitors will learn about Cisco's innovative technologies in sustainable and digital urban development at the pavilion.
Anthony Elvey, director of Cisco's Expo project, said the company hoped visitors could experience a kind of "Smart + Connected Life" at the pavilion and see Cisco's interpretation of a better life.
Cisco is a leading supplier of networking equipment and network management for the Internet and a senior IT sponsor for data network products and solutions for the Expo.
