 Valentiny's day coming soon

The little fortress

The Luxembourg pavilion is one of designer Francois Valentiny's latest masterpieces, in which he emphasizes the concept of "Small is Pretty" while promoting his country as the "Green Heart of Europe".

Born in Remerschen in 1953, Valentiny studied at France's School of Architecture of Nancy in 1975 and Vienna's University of Applied Arts several years later. His career took off when he co-founded Hermann & Valentiny and Partners with Hubert Hermann in 1991. Valentiny later attended the Venice Biennale of Architecture as Luxembourg's first representative and, in 2002, founded Luxembourg's first architecture magazine, Adato.

His talent later came to the fore courtesy of the Competition Culture Center in Aachen, Germany (2005), the House for Mozart in Salzburg, Austria (2006) and the Concert Hall in Stavangerer, Norway (2007).
