Little Mermaid leaves for Shanghai

The Little Mermaid sculpture on her rock is hoisted from its place in the waterline at Langelinie in Copenhagen, March 25, 2010, to be transported to the World Expo 2010 exhibition in Shanghai. The sculpture of the mermaid was a gift to Copenhagen, donated by brewer Carl Jacobsen and executed by sculptor Edvard Eriksen. The statue was set permanently at Langelinie on August 23, 1913 and is one of Denmark's biggest tourist attractions. [Agencies]
