The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) suggests pricing support for low income citizens at a national price bureau chiefs conference in Beijing on May 22, 2010, the Beijing News reported Tuesday.
The recent soar in consumer prices throughout China was due to various factors, including drought, heavy rainstorms in West and South China, and low temperatures in East and Central China, the NDRC said during the conference. Fabricated information, malicious storage and price gouging also buoyed the consumer prices, said the commission.
All levels of price bureau officers should enhance price regulating measures, and crack down on any form of bullying campaign and malicious storage of goods, the NDRC said.
