Centrally administered State-owned enterprises (SOEs) have attracted nearly 400 overseas talents since the end of 2008, said Li Rongrong, minister of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC), at a conference on Wednesday, Science and Technology Daily reported.
Ninety-two of them have been included in the "1,000-talent scheme," a nationwide plan launched in 2008 that promises top salaries and attractive funding to elite researchers who are working overseas and are willing to return to China.
The talents have been playing a crucial role in boosting enterprises' innovation capacity, Li said.
